Eric R. Oalican, Elder Law and Asset Protection Super Lawyer
ERIC R. OALICAN is the founding partner of Oalican Law Group, LLC. Mr. Oalican is a recognized expert in asset protection planning for elderly clients and those with a disability. He represents clients in Greater Boston and manages the firm’s Southeastern Massachusetts office in Raynham.
Eric received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989 from The University of Massachusetts at Amherst and his law degree from The American University in 1992. He is a frequent lecturer on elder law issues and annually chairs several programs for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education. Widely published, Eric recently authored the Older Clients and Long-Term Care Chapter for Drafting Estate Plans (Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc. Third Edition 2014). Mr. Oalican is admitted to the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Bar Associations.
Eric has been voted a “Super Lawyer” in elder law by New England attorneys since 2005. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Mr. Oalican also performs significant pro bono work giving educational seminars for public and private organizations devoted to assisting older clients. Asset protection, current Medicaid law and estate planning are topics Eric presents to Alzheimer support groups, social clubs, age-55 plus residential communities, assisted living facilities, home care staff and hospital case managers.
Embracing the wisdom he’s received from his older clients, Eric’s personal life balances his professional commitments. He enjoys cooking, skiing, coin collecting and spending time with his wife and two children.
Amy Oalican, Attorney and Office Manager
Amy Oalican wears two hats at Oalican Law Group, she is the Office Manager and an Attorney within the practice. Her responsibilities encompass many aspects of the “back office” of our business, including billing and book‑keeping. Her organizational skills keep our team running smoothly. On the legal side, Amy assists our clients with probate and conservatorship matters and MassHealth Applications and appeals. Amy graduated with a B.A. in Literature from The University of Pennsylvania and attained a J.D. from The American University, an LLM in taxation from Boston University and a Masters of Education from The University of Massachusetts at Boston. She has worked as an attorney with United States Immigration & Naturalization Service, Massachusetts Division of Medical Assistance, and the Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board.
In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, Eric, and their children. She also enjoys entertaining, traveling and relaxing with a good book.
Samantha M. Corso, Paralegal
Samantha M. Corso is OLG’s paralegal. She is effective and efficient, and has significant experience in our core practice of elder law. Samantha assists our clients in the areas of probate, guardianship, conservatorship, estate and asset preservation planning and MassHealth applications and appeals. She received her Paralegal degree at the Community College of Rhode Island, in Warwick, RI.
Samantha is married. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching movies, reading and traveling.
Lisa M. Day, Legal Secretary and Receptionist
Lisa M. Day As legal secretary and receptionist, Lisa is the voice and face of Oalican Law Group. She is the first person to which our clients speak and see. She has over 25 years of experience as a legal secretary, and has worked as a legal secretary for OLG since 2009. Lisa works tirelessly to ensure that our clients’ legal matters are handled in a thorough and efficient manner. She is married with grown children. During her free time, Lisa volunteers with an animal rescue non-profit, PAWS New England, enjoys long walks with her two Jack Russells and is a connoisseur of movies and television.
